For our Summer 2025 internship project at Publicis Le Truc, we were briefed that the building’s own Joe Coffee provides employees with free coffee daily, but it’s not so great for the baristas. Why? Because they always seem to be low on tips. So, we wanted to do something about that. So we thought, when are people most generous with their tips? During the holidays. Introducing Tipmas, an entirely made-up holiday that’s grounds for tipping, because generousity should be more than a seasonal affair.

A TIPMAS CAROL: No Holiday is complete without it’s own song. We created a video spot to remind everyone to keep the spirit of Tipmas alive year round.

OUT OF HOME

Integral to all designs, a scan-able QR code was incorporated that prompted the viewer to tip their baristas. And then we plastered them all over the building.

DECK THE JOES

But to really make it feel like Tipmas time, we decked the halls…of Joe’s. We created our own custom QR code Tipmas Dollar and used to it build a money tree. Then we hung garlands, made money-wrapped presents, and placed fake snow all throughout the cafés.

For extra incentive, we created Tippy—a mischievous Tipmas elf who can only be stopped if you drown him in tips. As people scan the QR code and tip, they can see their contribution drown Tippy in real time.

SPECIAL EDITION HOLIDAY CUP

And there’s nothing a coffee-drinker goes crazy for like the special edition holiday cups, so we made our own.

Tips increased 575% (yes, a real stat!)

Tipmas cheer is up 1 bajillion % (if you believe in Tipmas, this is equally as real)
